We are delighted to announce a new collection available to our researchers. Entitled The Alan Poulton Musical Theatre Archive, the Collection is a treasure trove of material relating to all aspects of musical theatre- including programmes, leaflets, articles, recordings, books and scores. A significant part of the collection is dedicated to the work of composer Stephen Sondheim, however the work of many others are included in the archive and any researcher of musical theatre will find a wealth of material here. As well as being a fascinating collection in its own right, the Alan Poulton Musical Theatre Archive also supports and adds to the holdings of our other theatre collections, notably the Stephen Sondheim Society Archive and the Sheridan Morley Theatre Collection.

Work has begun on the cataloguing of the books, scores and recordings, and catalogue entries for these will be found on our library catalogue. In depth cataloguing of the Archival material will begin in the near future with entries available on the Archives Catalogue, however in the meantime we do have an in depth item listing of the collection. As such if you think there might be items of interest to your research within the Collection, do please email us at archives@kingston.ac.uk , and we will assist you to find the relevant archival material. As with all archival appointments, we do require at least 24 hours notice of visits to view material in the Alan Poulton Musical Theatre Archive.
